Upon our arrival to Morocco in 2011, we were greeted at the airport with signs reading, "Kanye West". What? Little did we know, we had moved to Morocco right before the annual Mawazine International Music Festival held in Rabat! The city comes alive during this festival, and each year we have been fortunate to have attended multiple concerts and street performances at various venues around town. We've made lasting memories with dear friends and even enjoyed many more artists echoing through the windows of our apartment. Just last night I teased Jamil as I sung along with Enrique Inglesias to Hero as we went to sleep. This year, I thoroughly enjoyed a couple of early evening concerts with the boys at the Chellah ruins. The open area provided a very zen-like environment where the boys got a little culture and a little space to play as well. Of course, in a developing country, with this elaborate festival comes criticism definitely worth considering. All and all, I'm glad to add it to the memory book!
